Description
The AMSEC CSC1413 is a small, rugged burglar and 2 hour fire safe. There isn’t a whole lot of space inside, but it fits in small spaces that most other safes won’t accommodate. We like that the CSC1413 carries the Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) Residential Security Container (RSC) label as evidence it will protect in a typical home burglary.
We particularly like this safe for applications with high fire risk in addition to concern about burglary. The 2 hour fire label is a confidence builder as well. In a factory test the interior of this safe stayed below 350°F for 2 hours when heated to a temperature of a 1700°F. A typical house fire burns at 1200°F.
The CSC1913 carries the Residential Security (RSC) label from UL confirming this safe was not breached in an attack simulating a typical home burglary.
We stock this safe with the ESL10XL digital lock for ease of use, and can order it with a mechanical lock if preferred. The ESL10XL lock is powered by two 9-volt batteries located in the keypad on the outside of the safe. Batteries typically last at least a year and are easily replaced. We recommend Duracell or Energizer batteries dated at least 5 years into the future to ensure enough power to operate the lock. Multiple incorrect code entries will put the lock into lock-out mode for 15 minutes, protecting the safe from a prospective repeat entry attack.
The CSC1413 safe comes prepared with a bolt down hole in the bottom and we strongly recommend it is put to good use, especially on safes weighting less than 450 lbs. The last thing you want is to put all your most precious possessions into the safe only to have the whole safe carried away by a burglar.
If you like what you are reading but need a bit more room check out the AMSEC CSC1913, it has the same footprint with five more inches of height allowing an additional adjustable shelf.
