Description
AMSEC’s CSC3018 is an excellent burglar and fire safe for under a staircase, the garage or a commercial location. The thick fire layer providing the 2 hour fire rating makes for a bit of a bulky safe but in the right location it’s a great security solution. With over 5 cu.ft. of interior space and three adjustable shelves there is a generous amount of secure storage space.
We particularly like this safe for applications with high fire risk in addition to concern about burglary. The 2 hour fire label is a confidence builder. In a factory test the interior of this safe stayed below 350°F for 2 hours when heated to a temperature of a 1700°F. A typical house fire burns at 1200°F.
The CSC3018 carries the Residential Security (RSC) label from Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) confirming this safe was not breached in an attack simulating a typical home burglary.
We stock this safe with the ESL10XL digital lock for ease of use. The ESL10XL lock is powered by two 9-volt batteries located in the keypad on the outside of the safe. Batteries typically last at least a year and are easily replaced. We recommend Duracell or Energizer batteries dated at least 5 years into the future to ensure enough power to operate the lock. Multiple incorrect code entries will put the lock into lock-out mode for 15 minutes, protecting the safe from a prospective repeat entry attack.
The CSC3018 safe comes prepared with a bolt down hole in the bottom for the opportunity to provide additional security. While at 480 lbs. bolt down may not be critical, if the safe is placed on a concrete slab foundation it never hurts.
